history of community change
The Fund for Public Housing, Inc., D/B/A Public Housing Community Fund, is a public-private partnership founded as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2016 to support the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and its residents. In September 2021, the Fund’s Board of Directors approved a new Strategic Framework, which will guide its Strategic Plan from 2021 to 2025.
In 2023, the Fund launched its new brand and name, Public Housing Community Fund, reaffirming our mission to support more than half a million New Yorkers living in public housing communities. Since our establishment, we have been driven by our core values of empowerment, collaboration, and innovation.
We believe in the power of investing in public housing communities to create a more equitable New York City. With the support of our dedicated partners and the engagement of residents, we have achieved significant milestones in enhancing the lives of over 520,000 residents in the NYCHA community.
