  • Joanne Wilson, Chair

    Joanne Wilson is currently an active angel investor with a portfolio of over 100 companies such as Food52, Sweeten, Vengo, Nestio, Shippabo, Flip, Clutter, and Parachute Home. She also founded Frame Home, which develops residential spaces with a commitment to sustainable living. In addition to these endeavors, Joanne served as chairperson at Hot Bread Kitchen. She is a board member of The Highline and is the co-chair of Path Forward. Joanne serves as Chair of the Board of Directors.

  • Diallo Powell, Vice Chair

    Diallo is the Co-founder & CEO of mobility and energy company Stak Mobility. Diallo brings a diverse background working in management consulting with Fortune 500 companies, founding and scaling startups and growing non-profits. Diallo serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.

  • Annie Koo

    Annie Koo is the Chief Operating Officer at Catalyst Housing Group. Before Catalyst, Annie led the housing vertical at Sidewalk Labs, the former Alphabet company focused on real estate technology. In addition, she has worked on housing and affordability topics at McKinsey, NYC Dept of Housing Preservation and Development, and as a Fulbright Fellow in Singapore focused on public housing. Annie received her MBA from Columbia and holds a degree in Architectural Studies from Brown University. She is originally from McAllen, Texas.

  • Annika Lescott-Martinez (ex-officio)

    Annika Lescott-Martinez was appointed Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President of Finance at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in February 2020. Prior to joining NYCHA, Ms. Lescott-Martinez was a Presidential Management Fellow in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, where she worked on non-partisan housing policy analysis and the President's Budget under the Obama and Trump administrations. Ms. Lescott-Martinez provided strategic oversight on the $40 billion budget of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, crafted national housing policy reforms, reviewed national public housing regulatory changes, and implemented landmark legislation to streamline workforce development programs. She also worked at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, an innovative community development financing institution where she facilitated reinvestment in low-income communities across the five boroughs.

    Annika serves on the Board as an ex-officio member.

  • Dr. Susan Beane

    As Executive Medical Director at Healthfirst, Dr. Beane leads a team that collaborates with major healthcare delivery systems and with local and national policy experts on the design, implementation, and dissemination of innovative, outcomes focused models of care. Dr. Beane promotes partnership with providers and communities to create an effective, efficient, equitable delivery system with access for all.

  • Jeff Lindor

    Jeff Lindor is the Founder and CEO of The Gentlemen’s Factory Inc., a co-working social space that is designed to enhance the lives of men of color. Lindor’s previous experiences include serving as the Strategic Advisor to the Executive Staff at the NYC Department of Correction, Adjunct Lecturer at the City University of New York, and a Communications Strategist at EmblemHealth, where he led the initial roll out of the Affordable Care Act. Jeff is a current board member for NYC Mayor’s Office Black Entrepreneurship (BE-NYC) Initiative, The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, and NYC Tech Alliance.

  • Jennifer Kaminsky

    Jennifer Kaminsky is a Principal at Apollo Global Management, an asset management business that provides companies with innovative capital solutions and support to fund their growth and build stronger businesses. In her role at Apollo she is a Senior Project Manager within the Legal, Tax and Compliance group managing and overseeing strategic and financial initiatives and objectives. Prior to that time, Ms. Kaminsky was Senior Vice President at The Blackstone Group in the Hedge Fund Solutions Group. At her time at Blackstone she was the Head of Middle Office and Cash Operations focusing on the planning, processing and reconciliation of trades and cash needs for the division. Ms. Kaminsky graduated from State University of New York at Albany earning a dual degree in Psychology and Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Management.

  • Jessica Sherman

    Jessica Sherman is Senior Vice President of Affordable Development at Douglaston Development, where she runs the firm’s preservation portfolio and affordable business development. In her development roles, Ms. Sherman has overseen the preservation or new construction of over 3,000 units and budgets over $800 million. Prior to joining Douglaston Development, Ms. Sherman worked as a Leadership Fellow at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, focusing on regional infrastructure management and development. Ms. Sherman holds her M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, an M.Sc. in Social Policy from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Julio E. Cordova

    Julio E. Cordova is a dedicated community advocate with years of experience in community service. Residing in NYCHA’s Laguardia Houses on the Lower East Side, Julio has been deeply involved in various initiatives aimed at enhancing communication and dialogue among local residents, fostering community unity, and advocating for those without a voice.

    Julio's qualifications include serving as a Resident and Community Outreach Advocate, significantly contributing to community development. Julio is an Advisory Board Member for the YMCA Youth and Members drive, demonstrating a commitment to youth engagement and community betterment. Additionally, Julio is a member of the NYCHA Work Order Reform Committee and serves as Recording Secretary for the NYCHA Laguardia Houses Resident Association.

    Julio is known for his strong community focus, organizational skills, and commitment to improving neighborhood unity and security. At Laguardia Houses, Julio transformed vacant spaces to be used as computer labs and reading centers, with a focus on increasing literacy in NYCHA communities. Julio's work in various capacities reflects his dedication to community advocacy and engagement, making him a valuable asset to any community-focused initiative.

  • Karen Blondel

    Karen Dawn Blondel is a trusted and respected local community leader and long-time resident of public housing in Red Hook, Brooklyn. She has been widely recognized and honored at the community, city and state federal levels for her grassroots community organizing efforts and unwavering commitment to social justice issues, including housing equity, climate change, Hurricane Sandy recovery, environmental health, and COVID-19 preparedness. Karen is a Havard Graduate School of Design Loeb Fellow 2022.The Human Impacts Institute and NYC Department of Transportation declared her an NYC Climate Hero. When NY State went on PAUSE, she partnered with the Red Hook Container Terminal and spearheaded the weekly distribution of fresh produce to Red Hook and Gowanus residents. Karen has trained as a Computer Aided Designer and Drafter, worked as a Construction Inspector and Civil Engineer Assistant and is certified in Biomedical and Behavioral Research with Human Participants. She has worked on the impacts of the Gowanus Canal remediation on NYCHA residents, as a community liaison for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and as a certified US Census Field Representative and Data Collector. In 2020, she founded the Public Housing Civic Association, a local community-based non-profit organization that gives voice to public housing residents as they address issues related to the built environment.

    Karen is a Community Liaison for NASEM National Association for Science Engineering and Medicine raising awareness around PFAS contamination. Karen is one of five 2023 David Prize winners. This prize is awarded to ordinary New Yorkers who have ideas and visions that will benefit New Yorkers.

  • Lisa Bova-Hiatt (ex-officio)

    Lisa Bova-Hiatt was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of the New York City Housing Authority on September 19, 2022.

    Lisa has more than 25 years of experience in the public sector. She joined NYCHA in February 2020 as General Counsel, where she led the Authority's Law Department and was involved with all NYCHA executive matters including compliance with the HUD Agreement, NYCHA’s Transformation and Implementation Plans, as well as operations and administration. She was previously General Counsel of the City University Construction Fund and Executive University Counsel of the City University of New York (CUNY). Prior to CUNY, Lisa served as Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR), where she played an integral role in helping the agency carry out the reconstruction of over 12,000 homes and hundreds of infrastructure projects.

    Lisa previously spent 19 years in various roles at the New York City Law Department, including as the Deputy Chief of the Tax and Bankruptcy Litigation Division, where she specialized in the acquisition of property by eminent domain, in rem tax foreclosures, and real estate titles.

    Lisa serves on the Board as an ex-officio member.

  • Liz Neumark

    Liz Neumark is the founder of Great Performances, one of the country’s foremost catering companies. Liz is dedicated to tackling food-related issues and engages in a number of initiatives including food rescue, anti-hunger, healthy food access, and local agriculture. In 2006, she established Katchkie Farm in Kinderhook, NY, and founded The Sylvia Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing issues in children’s health. Liz was recently appointed to the NYC Fair Recovery Task Force; and she sits on the boards of GrowNYC, women.nyc, Hudson Square Business Improvement District, and is a member of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce.

  • Marquise Stillwell

    Marquise Stillwell is a designer and a catalyst for building communities and products across design, art, and culture. His career spans across two decades, and his curiosity for people and spaces developed into a passion for designing systems to make environments better for all people. In 2009, Marquise founded Openbox -- a design research and planning studio based in New York City that works at the intersection of people, cities, and planet. Within Openbox, he later co-founded Opendox, a film company that tells lesser-known narratives around art, science, nature, and politics. Marquise has executive produced The New Bauhaus and most recently co-directed This World Is Not My Own, which premiered at SXSW and Hot Docs. He has also co-founded Deem Journal, a biannual print journal and online platform focused on design as social practice, and Urban Ocean Lab, a think tank for the future of coastal cities. Most recently, he acquired Stae, a go-to open-source data hub that allows people to visualize and leverage open city data in a meaningful way. Additionally, Marquise serves as a board member for the Center for Architecture and on advisory boards for Creative Capital, Riverkeeper, and Black Girls Shred. He is also a member of the High Line Advisory Committee, a fellow at Urban Design Forum, and was a Founding Board Member and Co-Chair at The Lowline, the first underground park.

  • Matthew Cullinen

    Matthew Cullinen

    Matthew Cullinen is Vice President of Global Sustainability at HSBC Bank, USA. He is a climate change, philanthropy and non-profit leader with over 12 years of experience building and leading initiatives on a global basis to reduce carbon emissions and support economic development. Previously Matthew was a Senior Director at Pact, an international development organization, where he launched their energy practice, and he has recently served as an independent consultant to several companies, including Google and Schmidt Futures. Matthew holds an MA in international relations from New York University and received his BA in political science and philosophy from Indiana University, Bloomington.

  • Michelle Gomez

    Michelle Gomez had been a resident of Woodside Houses since 2017, with her teenage children, following five years of living in homeless shelters after losing her long term job. Michelle earned her High School Equivalency diploma through a NYCHA program, graduated from LaGuardia College and in December 2021 will earn a dual degree from Hunter College in Urban Studies and Public Policy.

  • Reggie Thomas

    Reggie Thomas is Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at the Real Estate Board of New York, overseeing relationships with federal, state, and city elected officials. Reggie previously served Mayors Bill de Blasio and Michael Bloomberg in the Office of City Legislative Affairs as First Deputy Director and Senior Policy Advisor.

  • Rosina Abramson

    Rosina Abramson is a private sector lawyer and consultant. She is the Principal of Verdant Ventures Consulting. She has specialized in sustainable infra-structure, intergovernmental relations, and management. Career highlights include President of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation and of the Queens West Development Corporation.

  • Sideya Sherman (ex-officio)

    Sideya Sherman is Commissioner of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Equity, where she leads the City’s effort to advance equity through policy, practice, and programs that serve New Yorkers. Sideya brings nearly two decades of equity-focused community and economic development experience, most recently serving as Executive Vice President for Community Engagement and Partnerships at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). In 2020, while at NYCHA, Sideya was tapped to additionally lead the Mayor’s Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE). As Executive Director of TRIE, Sideya worked across over 60 City agencies and Offices to advance new policies and initiatives that centered equity in the City’s ongoing pandemic response and recovery.

    Prior to her career in government, Sideya acquired extensive experience serving diverse communities in the nonprofit sector. As Project Director and Senior Planner for the Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS), Sideya provided training and technical assistance to community-based organizations and neighborhood advocates confronting local planning, land use, and economic development challenges. Sideya has also held positions with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and the Lower East Side Business Improvement District, where she implemented urban commercial corridor revitalization programs at both a national and local scale, respectively.

    Sideya serves on the Board as an ex-officio member.

  • Ukah Busgith (ex-officio)

    Ukah Busgith was appointed NYCHA’s Executive Vice President for Community Engagement and Partnerships in May 2022. She oversees a department of more than 250 staff who connect NYCHA residents to critical programs and services and engage residents around agency and community priorities. The Community Engagement and Partnerships department supports NYCHA’s extensive network of resident associations and manages partnerships, programs, and initiatives involving economic opportunity as well as youth, senior, and social services.

    For more than 30 years, Ms. Busgith has made it her mission to help improve the quality of life for NYCHA residents. She started her career at NYCHA as a community assistant at Pink Houses and has since served in various roles, such as the coordinator of an afterschool reading program, manager of programs for NYCHA’s Manhattan community centers, and director of NYCHA’s Family Partnerships Department.
