The Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG) is a resident-informed advisory membership dedicated to shaping and informing arts programming within the NYCHA community. Comprised of 5-8 residents, the SAG will decide on the appropriate execution of funding, programming, themes, and scheduling in conversation with one artist-in-residence. The artist develops a work plan that aligns with the themes, content, and creative expressions favored by the residents. This inclusive approach ensures that the arts programming resonates with the residents and reflects their diverse perspectives and interests. Residents have the opportunity to actively participate in the decision-making process and contribute to the development of arts initiatives that enrich their unique communities.

SAG members will receive a stipend of $500 over a two-year period. Members of the SAG are expected to uphold these values, such as mutual respect, good attendance, and inclusivity throughout their participation in the group, to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment for all individuals involved. This includes aims to foster creativity and collaboration between stakeholders. To express interest and dedication to enhancing the cultural landscape of NYCHA through art.

Through the artist-in-residence program (5) individuals will develop and document resident and community engagement plans with benchmarks and schedules over a 20-month period involving community art workshops and programs.

Artists will coordinate with The Public Housing Community Fund, Site Partner, and SAG to moderate programs that foster creative participation with residents, local history and culture, community knowledge, and art. Before the completion of the program, implement an art project proposal in coordination with The Public Housing Community Fund, Site Partner and the SAG.

Between September and Novemember, artists will work to complete each section of their work plan. This Work Plan will serve as their primary reference throughout the residency, providing a comprehensive understanding of programming and installation plans to review with the SAG. The plan will guide artists through the project's various stages and ensure alignment with our overall goals to be completed no later than October 31, 2024. The Work Plan will amend each artist-in-residency’s contract.
